Got the newsletter from GFI this morning, saying that the new beta version of GFI MailEssentials has been released with some new techniques. Additional to Fighting with the spam, these features provides some new ways to fight with the spam.
Spam URL real-time blacklists (SURBL) checking, to detect spam based on URLs in the message body. Links or domains are extracted from the message body, these are then queried to check whether they are listed on public spam URL blacklists such as sc.surbl.org. More information on SURBL can be found at http://www.surbl.org.
Configure custom real-time blacklist (RBL) servers and multiple DNSRBL servers, add their own, and define the order of priority of servers to be checked. This improves on the product's existing third party DNS blacklist checking module.
A new senders feature provides users with an instant view of emails sent from people they never had previous (email) contact with. This helps users better organize emails in their email client, as well minimize false positives.
