Apparently I am not the only one who hates QuickTax. QuickTax Disapoints appears the no.3 in Google as keyword "QuickTax", a lot of individuals left comments with so many other choices. This person also points out that "the recent changes to QuickTax pricing scheme have caused a stream of outrage on the Financial Webring Forum, and is heading over to switch to a cheaper CRA Certified alternative. Good, I bet QuickTax will soon realize how stupid they were to push their customers away, or maybe they already did.
CRA Certified software is definitely a good and trustful place to look at, even though it states in their website that
There is no software or Web application certified for use with the 2008 NETFILE Program (2007 tax return) at this time.
Among these alternatives, my accountant is going to use TaxTron, my assistant is using UFile, and some of others recommend free StudioTax. I might go with Ufile as it offers an important feature that transfers data from your previous year of QuickTax or TaxWiz file. Sounds sweet if it does well. If no, StudioTax will be next in the line. Why? Because it's free, and I am cheaper when I get older. :)
