Ok, finally, Microsoft responds to Save XP petition. Basically, Microsoft says
We're aware of it, but are listening first and foremost to feedback we hear from partners and customers about what makes sense based on their needs. That's what informed our decision to extend the availability of XP initially, and what will continue to guide us.
Good, at least, they are aware of it, and they are listening but obviously, XP will still die, even though it might live a little longer. Thanks to over 75,000 people who signed their names on the petition.

Microsoft seems pretty happy with the fact how overall market goes with Vista but still, there are more vendors that understand the needs of XP and offered the opportunity to downgrade to XP pro, including Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Fujitsu, and more recently, NEC.
So upgrading my laptop to XP doesn't sound a good idea at this moment then.
